Local Love - Muletown Coffee
When we lived in Franklin, Tennessee, Bryson's parents would tell us about this amazing coffee shop located in Downtown Columbia, and if we are completely honest, we didn't really believe them. At that time, there really wasn't much in Columbia and we lived in the heart of a blooming coffee culture in Nashville so the idea of good coffee elsewhere was impossible. However, while we were home to visit family we stopped by for a cup or two and we were immediately hooked. Their inviting, simple and casual atmosphere paired with no-nonsense, in-store roasted coffee made us have all the feels for small towns and caffiene.
Not too long after that visit, I (Susan) started working downtown and fell in love with the atmosphere and the people working there even more. I quickly became friends with all of the baristas and Matt and Chris (the owners). Pretty soon, I was convincing Bryson to come down and work on the weekends in their shop in hopes he'd get to know everyone too. It wasn't long before we all felt like we had been friends for years.
These days, it's not hard to find us there grabbing a cup to go or keeping an eye on their plants (we've been given the honorary title of plant mom and dad for the shop.)
We owe a lot to Muletown Coffee for inspiring us to set down roots in our hometown and for all of their advice and support along the way. So next time you're in town, be sure to stop by and tell Chris, Matt, Austin, Alaina, Rick, Justin and the rest we said hey!
If you don't live in town, you can grab a bag from our online store and we'll ship it right to ya.
