Maternity Favorites from One Expectant Mother

I am no expert on being pregnant, and I haven’t even had our baby yet! But I have learned a few tricks of the trade in my almost 9 months of being pregnant, and I thought I would share my top 10 favorite things that have saved me during these exciting months.
hydroflask water bottle
Invest in a good water bottle. I carry this one everywhere, and I actually have 2. It’s the best in my opinion because I have a straw which encourages me to use it. Plus if you’re spending good money on a water bottle, you’re probably more likely to actually use it.
I have mentioned these leggings before, but I want to mention them again. I have 2 pairs, and I seriously wear them every day. I have tried maternity leggings and maternity jeans, and I just can’t. I hate the constant feeling of needing to pull my pants up. So, these are totally worth the investment in my opinion. I can even wear them post-baby, so that’s a definite win in my book. I am wearing my pre-baby size as well.
clary renew + repair oil
This oil has been an amazing part of my daily routine. I love the smell, and it makes my skin feel so luxurious. I have been so proactive about not getting stretch marks, and I definitely think this has helped tremendously.
collagen peptides
Another thing I’ve been doing to help prevent stretch marks is using my collagen powder every morning in my coffee. I was a little unsure just because the container says to contact a health professional, so I asked my midwife at my first visit to make sure. She looked it up and said it was safe and helped with stretch marks as well! It gives me a little extra protein in the morning because we all know that pregnancy causes you to eat all. The. time.
young living tranquil roll on
I had a really hard time sleeping in my first trimester, so this roll on essential oil was a lifesaver. I still use it nightly because it smells so yummy and helps me sleep!
cascadian farms granola bar
Snacks...all the snacks actually. I have lived off of clementines, grapes, cereal, granola bars, dried fruit and nuts, and so many more. I made the mistake one time to not have snacks in my purse, and I haven’t done that again. So, if you are expecting or ever going to be expecting, make sure you carry snacks with you no matter where you go!
epionce facial cream
My skin completely changed within the first few weeks after we found out Baby L was on the way, so I had to do something different with my skincare routine. I have a friend who is a nurse at our local Skin and Allergy Center, and they sell Epionce products. She gave me samples to try, and I immediately fell in love with them. This facial cream is one I cannot live without. It’s been the best thing since sliced bread this winter when your skin is already so dry.
tubby todd all-over ointment
My hands have always been dry, but I feel like winter & pregnancy have done me in this year. But I found this balm and it’s amazing. I can’t wait to try out more of their products on our little one soon!
muletown barre
This is not a product, but it has been a staple in my routine since I was not constantly sick in my first trimester. I love barre classes, and they are great for your pelvic floor! I go three times a week, and I can definitely tell it’s made a difference in my body and my mood. If you need a great place to try and you’re local, come with me to Muletown Barre! I love the community of friends I have made from working out with these ladies, and we are all about building each other up and never tearing people down.
erin condren life planner
Lastly, I have loved having a planner where I can stay organized and put together! This is my favorite planner, and I know that people have all kinds of different ones available. But this is the one that I keep coming back to. Pregnancy brain is real, and I honestly think I would be lost without my planner. I make lists for each day, and it has kept my mind in order during the day. I mark off all the tasks I completed, and if there are still some to do, I move it to the next day.
I hope this helps someone who might be pregnant or who may be pregnant within the next couple of years! Also, one final tip, hit up all of your friends that are about the same size as you for maternity clothing! It's the best way to save some money and not purchase things you can't wear all the time.
