Life Lately in Things No. 1

New name for my weekly blog post because I was feeling fancy!

Happy Friday, everyone! Hope you had a great short week! The kids were out of school on Monday and Tuesday, so we stayed an extra day in Pigeon Forge. While that was so fun, Bryson and I have been so confused every day this week as to which day it is ha!

Our trip was so much fun. We both looked at each other on the way home on Tuesday and remarked how it was a better trip than either of us could have imagined. Did our kids have meltdowns, well of course, but it wasn't anything that we couldn't manage and move on from. Did our kids sleep like normal? Of course not, but we managed and tried to take naps when we could! The kids loved Dollywood and Ober Gatlinburg so much, and we truly had a great cabin for a large family (we went with Bryson's mom and dad and brother). We also went to Dig-n-Zone which was a lot of fun for the boys! They got to drive excavators, tractors, a steamroller, and so many more construction vehicles! While we are still recovering, we still had a great time!

Owen had his first Cross Country meet this week, and that was interesting! They've had practices, but he had never seen the whole track that he would be running. So, it was a mile with a few hills which made for a hard run. He persisted and finished, but he was overwhelmed to say the least. I guess we will see how it goes next week (if we can convince him to race again)!

I finished this book last week on our vacation, and I enjoyed it! It was a really interesting take on if you could skip to the “good part” of your life what would happen. I wanted there to be more Sam at the end, but it was nice to have a book not end the way I really wanted it to but still enjoy the ending.

A friend posted this recipe on her stories, and I will be making them for the kids this weekend! I can't wait to eat them, too!

I've had a couple of people ask me about makeup recently, so I thought I would share again my love for Merit makeup! I feel like I started using it before all the major influencers did because I was looking for an alternative for Beautycounter at the time. I have been using it consistently for 2 almost 3 years and still love it. It's light and natural and so fast to throw on in the morning! Start with the 5 minute morning set and just replenish what you need over time!

If you are ever in Knoxville and are gluten-free, you HAVE to eat here! We all loved the food, and it was so nice to be able to eat fried food again!

Let me preface this to say, we do not own this stroller. I borrowed it from Molly who works for us, and let me tell you what people…it is worth the hype! This thing only weighs 23 pounds and was so compact. I have tried many a stroller, and this was by far my favorite double stroller I’ve ever used. It was amazing for our vacation! We took it everywhere and the kids loved sitting in it. If I felt like I needed another double stroller, I would totally sell my BOB and get this one!
